Dear Friends,
I have dusty old textbooks stored away somewhere in my house: I don’t feel like selling them priced as useless paper, nor do I feel like putting them in the trash. Does this sound familiar? Then please bring them out, from the forgotten attics and from the closets, from under the bed or over the windows. Give them a new life in the hands of students who often drop out of schools due to the cost of buying textbooks.
For more information visit http://muktiweb.org/projects/education.php
I will be in Kolkata in mid-May kolkata. If you stack together all the old textbooks you can lay your hands on, I will be glad to pick them up and deliver them to Mukti. (Ofcourse if you wish to help in this step too, that will be WOW ! Very appreciated)
If you are not located in Kolkata but your family and old books are, I will be very grateful if you request them to bring out the old books(my mom, i am sure, will be very happy to get rid of my old books)
If you can get unused textbooks of your siblings, cousins, spouse or any other friends and family, now is the time to ask for them. Class-V and above textbooks more urgently needed. If you can spread the word and help me in the collection, that will be great and lots of fun too!
Make use of this chance to help fellow students, to make good use of the books, to free up space in your house and to feel good, all in one single act :)
PLEASE TAKE THE INITIATIVE. IF YOU PUT IT OFF, YOU WILL FORGET (I CAN TELL YOU FROM MY EXPERIENCE)
I wish you an enjoyable adventure in hunting down old, dusty, forgotten textbooks :)
Thanks in advance for your help. Please don’t disappoint.

Let me know, when u get to Kolkata.
It is a great initiative Bidisha, Last 4 years Mukti is providing text books to more than 2500 students. this years seems we will be able to cover more number of students. I would like to request all volunteers to come forward and join hands to make this program success for 2008.
I am also forwading this initiative to Mukti JU team to get few more volunteers.
